Envy is the snake in the garden. It's out there. If you do well, it will bite you. If you do well and you also happen to be happy, it will kill you. The basest of all human emotions is not greed or lust--it is envy. And most humans have to destroy those who achieve something that is beyond them or for which they also reached, but the arms and the will gave out. I know this is no comfort, but heal the bite with the realization that you did something that was beyond the snake.
